You don’t need to pay to get a good appreciation of the castle; there is a nice, 20 minute walk that takes you around it. Start at the gate just before the entrance, when you get to the road keep left

Kids dressing up as knights, feature tents in the grounds and lots if things to look at in the village. Best on a nice hot day like we had today!

Although I like going sightseeing and historic places, it's not really worth visiting castle ruins. If you consider pricey tickets, the best thing you can do is to take some pictures from distance.

A spectacular castle with enjoyable walks in the fields surrounding. Stop off at the nearby pubs and take in the history.
